Lake-Sumter Community College

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN)

Overview

Lake-Sumter State College will offer an RN to BSN program starting in the 2018-2019 academic year, with courses beginning in Fall 2018. A new group of students will be admitted every semester.

The BSN is an advanced credential for nurses seeking to advance their career in today's healthcare systems. In fact, due to the growing complexity of healthcare, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) recommends that hospitals increase their BSN staff to 80% by the year 2020.

A BSN prepares nurses to be more competitive in the healthcare field by building on current knowledge gained in the Associate in Science degree in Nursing (ADN).

The RN to BSN program at LSSC is designed for current registered nurses (RN) and students who have completed the Associate in Science degree in Nursing (ADN) and who are eligible for or have current licensure as a (RN).

This program has been reviewed and accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC).
