Computer Information Technology Program Overview


Associate in Science in Computer Information Technology - 60 credits/20 courses

The Computer Information Technology A.S. degree provides students with the foundational knowledge in information technology. Students expand their knowledge and skills in software, hardware, networking and programming. The A.S. degree is a dual purpose degree; it also prepares students for transfer to a program at a four-year college or university.


Technical Certificates

Digital Forensics - 24 credits/8 courses

This 24-credits/8-courses technical certificate prepares students for employment as a digital forensics support technician. The program will provide training needed to support professionals in the field of computer forensics and mobile device. 


Information Technology Analysis – 27 credits/9 courses

This technical certificate prepares students for employment as a technical support specialist, computer repair technician, and supplications system specialist. It also prepares students to sit for the A+, Security, and Network+ certification exam.


Help Desk Support Technician – 18 credits/6 courses

The purpose of this certificate program is to prepare students for employment as a:

  • Microcomputer Support Specialist
  • Help Desk Specialist
  • User Support Specialist
  • Technical Support Specialist
  • Computer Repair Technician

​This program will provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations as well as for those new to the Information Technology field. It will also help prepare students to sit for the A+ certification exams.
