How to obtain your textbooks...
 

Private School Students Students 

  • Financially responsible for purchasing textbooks.

Lake County Public Students 

  • Student will received an email notification that their textbooks are ready to be picked up via their student Lakehawk email account. The student's courses must be approved electronically by both the School Counselor and LSSC before the student will receive the email notification.
  • Lake County School Board (LCSB) provides students with required textbooks/access codes.
  • Bring a printed Detailed Schedule (or have the schedule available on your phone) to the Lake County School Board at 512 S. Palm Ave. in Howey-in-the-Hills.
  • Students should check the textbook schedule BEFORE picking up textbooks (information available on the Lake County Schools DE webpage and included in the student's email).
  • If you have any questions/concerns about textbooks/access codes and for hours of operations, contact Daniel Santos, santosd@lake.k12.fl.us.
  • Students should not pick up books from the LSSC bookstore.

Sumter County Public Students

  • Student will received an email notification that their textbooks are ready to be picked up via their student Lakehawk email account. The student's courses must be approved electronically by both the School Counselor and LSSC before the student will receive the email notification.Sumter County School Board provides textbooks/access codes to Sumter County public high school students.  
  • Bring a printed Detailed Schedule (or have the schedule available on your phone) to the Sumter County Adult Education Center at 1405 County Road 526A, Sumterville.

  • Students should not pick up books from the LSSC bookstore.​ 

Home Education Textbook Process

 
Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) has developed the following procedure to comply with Florida House Bill 7055, allowing eligible Home Education Dual Enrollment students with an opportunity to obtain textbooks; LSSC has elected a free book rental process for this program. Home Education Dual Enrollment Students must pick up books through the Leesburg Bookstore located on the Leesburg campus at 9501 US Highway 441, Leesburg, FL 34788. Lake-Sumter State College will cover the cost for rented used textbooks.
 

To rent books, Home Education students must complete the following steps:

1. Register for classes using LOIS (LSSC Online Interactive Services) at www.lssc.edu.

2. Bring a copy of your detailed schedule to the Leesburg Bookstore (9501 US Highway 441, Leesburg, FL 34788).

3. Inform the cashier that you are a Home Education Dual Enrollment student. The cashier will help you identify which books or access codes are needed for your classes.

4. If you make a change to your schedule, you will need bring an updated copy of your schedule to the Leesburg Bookstore to pick up your new books. You will also need to return books for any classes you are no longer registered in. Unreturned books will result in the student being charge the cost of the book.

5. For the Spring 2019 semester, books must be picked up by January 16, 2019.

6. For the Fall 2018 semester - Books must be returned to the Leesburg Bookstore by Monday, December 10th. For the Spring 2019 semester - Books must be returned to the Leesburg Bookstore by Monday, April 29, 2019.​ Students who do not return books by this date will be charged the cost of the book.
