How to Apply for Financial Aid

Follow these easy steps to apply for Financial Aid at LSSC:

Step 1 – Complete the FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is your key to receiving aid. By completing the simplified FAFSA application, you have the potential to receive grants, scholarships, employment, state aid, or loans.

FAFSA transmission can take up to five days to load into your myLSSC account, so plan ahead to ensure you meet the priority deadlines in the academic calendar. Meeting these deadlines ensures your aid will be ready before the semester begins.

Step 2 – Check your Financial Aid in myLSSC

Before your financial aid can be processed, you must fulfill all outstanding requirements. The request will appear as an Action Item(s) in your myLSSC Account (Financial Aid section), and a request(s) are sent to your Lakehawk email. Financial aid will not be processed until all student requirements are received by the Financial Aid office.

Step 3 – Accept your Award

Once your financial aid is processed, you will can see your awards on your myLSSC Account under the ‘Award Offer’ tab.

Please note awards will be adjusted after they are offered for a variety of reasons. Enrollment less than full-time, receipt of scholarships after your aid is offered, and federal notifications can all affect your aid.
