How long will it take to be processed?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>To request an official transcript, click <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/lssc.edu\/current-students\/registrar\/ordering-transcripts\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>. It is $3.00 per transcript and takes about a week to get to the destination. Depending on the subject and score, a student may receive three (3) to sixteen (16) college credit hours. What does it mean?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Co-requisite or pre-requisite error<\/strong>: you are missing a co-requisite or pre-requisite for the course. In order to solve a co-requisite courses you will have to register for courses that must be taken at the same time. For example, registration must occur for NUR 2601 and NUR 2601L at the same time.<br><strong>To solve a pre-requisite error<\/strong>, you must register for the prerequisite for the earliest term and the second course in the preceding term. For example, you must first register for BSC 1010C for the summer term, and then add BSC1011C for the fall term.<br> <strong>Maximum hours exceeded error:<\/strong> This means you have exceeded the maximum credit hours you are eligible to register for (18 credit hours for Fall and Spring terms; 13 credit hours for the Summer term)<br><strong>Time conflict error<\/strong>: The system tells you which class you are already registered for that is causing the time conflict.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">How can I view my schedule for the semester?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:html -->\n<ul>\n<li>Click on the Student tab in myLSSC.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the Select a Term for Course Registration and Course Withdrawal.<\/li>\n<li>From the drop down menu select the term to add the course.<\/li>\n<li>Click Submit Changes.<\/li>\n<li>Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Detailed Schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:html -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">Do I have to pay in full or can the payments be broken up?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>LSSC does offer payment plans. Depending on the type of Prepaid account, any lab fees or school fees (outside of the general tuition) may not be covered. Once registered for classes, check your CashNet account to see if any remaining fees are due; you are responsible for paying for any remaining balances before the payment deadline.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">I am getting an error message \/ hold when I try to sign up for my class.<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Pre-req and test score<\/strong> \u2013 The class has prerequisites that have not been met before attempting to register for that class. Check the catalog for the prerequisites for the class and see an academic advisor if you have questions.<br><br><strong>Academic Standing prohibits registration<\/strong> \u2013 Based on prior grades, you are on probation (1 semester below 2.0 GPA) or suspension (2+ semesters below 2.0 GPA) and must make an appointment with an academic advisor.<br><br><strong>Closed section<\/strong> \u2013 The class is full to capacity as well as the waitlist. <br><br><strong>Time-ticket\/Only can register on 12\/31\/2099<\/strong> \u2013 You have a hold on your account regarding missing transcripts. Contact the Admissions & Records Office at 352-787-3747.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">How can I make an appeal\/request?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Lake-Sumter State College is committed to ensuring that all students receive access to a fair, equitable and timely grievance process without retaliation. LSCC seeks to maintain clear pathways for students who wish to lodge complaints or pursue grievances and appeals. If the matter cannot be resolved through the informal process as shown in the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/lssc.smartcatalogiq.com\/en\/current\/Catalog-and-Student-Handbook\/College-Policies-Procedures\/Student-Rights-and-Responsibilities\/Student-Complaints-and-Grievances\" target=\"_blank\">LSSC Resolution of Student Grievances\/Complaints chart<\/a> in the LSSC Catalog and Student Handbook, the student may elect to proceed through a formal written process through the Administrative Appeals process.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>LSSC permits four types of written administrative appeal requests including student <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lssc.edu\/news\/faq\/how-do-i-request-a-late-withdrawal-from-courses\/\">requests for late withdrawal<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lssc.edu\/news\/faq\/how-do-i-make-a-request-for-a-drop-refund\/\">administrative drop\/refund<\/a>, a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lssc.edu\/news\/faq\/how-do-i-request-a-waiver-to-avoid-the-full-cost-of-instruction-of-a-third-attempt\/\"> waiver to avoid the full cost of instruction of a third attempt<\/a>, and a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lssc.edu\/news\/faq\/how-do-i-request-a-fourth-course-attempt\/\"> fourth course attempt<\/a>.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">Is there a way to get into a closed class?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>You can register for a closed class, but it will prompt you to add youself to the WaitList. Make sure that you have activated your LakeHawk Mail account. When a registered student drops from the class, the next person on the waitlist will be notified via their LakeHawk Mail. That student will have 24 hours to accept or reject the seat before the Waitlist spot is emailed to the next person. (Refer to WaitList FAQ on myLSSC)<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">What type of academic advising appointments are available?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>In-person, phone advising, and online advising. For existing students, use <a href=\"\/current-students\/starfish\/\">Starfish<\/a> to make an appointment with your advisor. Be warned that only the newest grade is averaged in the Grade Point Average; therefore, if you earn an F when trying to forgive a D - only the F will be factored in the Grade Point Average. <\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">Can I still take classes while my academic status is warning?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>When a student's GPA is below a 2.0, the academic standing changes to warning. A hold is placed on the student's account which blocks the student from registering for courses. Instructions for removing the hold will be sent to the student's LSSC email.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">How do I change my major?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Complete a Change of Program Request Form and submit to the Admissions & Records Office. You will need to meet with an advisor to discuss program prerequisites. <br>https:\/\/www.lssc.edu\/students\/Documents\/StudentForms\/ChangeofProgramRequestForm.pdf<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">The course I just failed was a prerequisite to a course I want to take this semester. I've advanced registered, what should I do?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Check myLSSC as soon as grades post and adjust your schedule accordingly. You can meet with an advisor to discuss your options.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">How do I request a drop\/refund?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>In\ncompliance with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flrules.org\/gateway\/ruleno.asp?id=6A-14.0541\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">State\nBoard of Education Rule 6A-14.0541<\/a>, a 100% refund of\ntuition and fees will occur only when classes are dropped within the college\u2019s\nestablished add-drop time period. Refunds are not issued for classes from which\nthe student withdraws after the established add-drop time period. \nHowever, LSSC allows the full refund (100%) of tuition and fees in cases of\nserious circumstances beyond the student\u2019s control that occur prior to the\nmid-point (50% of instructional days) of the semester and prevent the student\nfrom completing the semester. In the case of mini-mester courses, the\ncircumstances must occur prior to the mid-point of the course. The\nstudent\u2019s reasons for pursuing the appeal must be fully explained and\ndocumented, in writing, and are limited to the following: involuntary call\nto military duty, death of the student, illness of the student of such severity\nand duration that attendance in class is not possible from the onset of the\nillness through the end of the semester, or technical errors associated with\nthe student\u2019s admission, advising or registration on the part of the college or\ncollege staff.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">How do I request a late withdrawal from courses?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Requests\nfor withdrawal from courses beyond the deadline date may be granted due to\nserious circumstances beyond the student\u2019s control that prevent successful\ncompletion of the course. Withdrawal exceptions must be submitted within one\nyear of the last day of the term for which the student is submitting an\nappeal. Requests made after that time will not be considered. Approved\nrequests will result in a \u201cW\u201d on the student transcript and count towards the\nstudent\u2019s college and financial aid completion ratio. The student\u2019s\nreasons for pursuing the appeal must be fully explained and documented, in\nwriting, and are limited to the following: involuntary call to military duty,\ndeath of a student, documented illness\/injury of a student or a member of the\nstudent\u2019s immediate family (spouse\/partner, parent or child), or severe exigent\ncircumstances.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">How do I request a waiver to avoid the full cost of instruction of a third attempt?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Students\nmay repeat only those classes in which they have received a grade of W, D, U or\nF (a non-passing grade) in compliance with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leg.state.fl.us\/Statutes\/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=1000-1099\/1009\/Sections\/1009.285.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">F. S. Section 1009.285<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leg.state.fl.us\/Statutes\/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=1000-1099\/1009\/Sections\/1009.28.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">F. S. Section 1009.28<\/a>. Students\nattempting the same developmental course or the same college credit course for\nthe third time must pay 100% of the full cost of instruction for those courses.\nThe full cost of instruction is equivalent to the cost of out-of-state\ntuition. The student\u2019s reasons for pursuing the waiver of the full cost\nof instruction and request appeal must be fully explained and documented, in\nwriting, and are limited to the following: involuntary call to military duty,\ndeath of student\u2019s immediate family member, illness of student or member of\nstudent\u2019s immediate family (spouse\/partner, parent or child), disability,\nnon-native speaker\/ESL, change in conditions of employment or financial\nhardship.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">How do I request a fourth course attempt?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n <!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Students may repeat only those classes in which they have received a grade of W, D, U or F (a non-passing grade) in compliance with\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.leg.state.fl.us\/Statutes\/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=1000-1099\/1009\/Sections\/1009.285.html\" target=\"_blank\">F. Section 1009.285<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0and\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.leg.state.fl.us\/Statutes\/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=1000-1099\/1009\/Sections\/1009.28.html\" target=\"_blank\">F. S. Section 1009.28<\/a>.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Students attempting the same developmental course or the same college credit course for the fourth time must pay 100% of the full cost of instruction for those courses. The full cost of instruction is equivalent to the cost of out-of-state tuition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>A fourth attempt may be allowed only through a formal review process, which the student must initiate through the appeals process with an academic advisor. The student\u2019s reasons for requesting a fourth course attempt appeal must be fully explained and documented, in writing, and are limited to the following: involuntary call to military duty, death of student\u2019s immediate family member, illness of student or member of student\u2019s immediate family (spouse\/partner, parent or child), disability, non-native speaker\/ESL, change in conditions of employment, or financial hardship.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n <\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"faq-item\">\n <button class=\"question\">Do I receive a refund when I withdraw from a class?<\/button>\n <div class=\"answer\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-live=\"assertive\">\n No. A student receives a refund if a class is \"Dropped\" by the Drop Deadline. After the Drop Deadline, no refunds are issued for fee payments.
